Church of Sant'Anna - Floresta
- Sicilia
The Mother Church of the small village of Floresta is dedicated to Saint Anna mother of Mary patron of the municipality. The religious building was erected around 175 on a seventeenth-century church built by the nobleman of Spanish origins Antonio Quintana Duegnas who, after being elevated to the rank of Marquis of the San Giorgio forest and bold, dedicated the church to the holy knight. The eighteenth-century church was enlarged around 1800. During the same period, the passage of dedication from San Giorgio to Sant'Anna was implemented. The church presents itself externally for the salient facade embellished by a simple sandstone portal flanked by a spire bell tower. The interior, with three naves decorated in stucco and punctuated by pillars, preserves, in addition to numerous wooden statues of the twentieth century, the wooden effigy of the saint titular.
