Zodiac square - Torrenova

To celebrate the administrative autonomy from San Marco d ’Alunzio, a modern and complex architectural complex has been created in Torrenova which takes the name of Piazza Autonomia . Inside it there is a precious jewel for the cultural and artistic identity of the town, a monumental area with great postmodern charm: the zodiac square. This 12-pointed star-shaped made of cobblestone and colored marble houses 12 splendid polychrome bronze sculptures with a classicist taste, works of 1992 by the sculptor Alessandro Romano, which represent, according to the artist's personal interpretation, the zodiac signs. A riot of mythological and astrological beings, with perfect anatomy of hybrid bodies and beautiful drapery vibrations.
