In Piraino, in the northern Sicily, just in front of the Aeolian Islands, it is born Cantine Amato, a family-run winery that has been producing high quality Sicilian wines from organic agriculture for over 60 years: from red to rosé wine, from white wine to sparkling wine with liqueur wines, everything is carefully made with the best Sicilian grapes, worked in the wine cellar respecting the characteristics of each grape variety and its territory of origin.

The history of Cantine Amato has ancient origins: it was the 1930s when Vincenzo Giardina Papa, who emigrated to America at a young age, returned to Sicily and decided to invest his savings in building a small tavern. In 1958, Rosario Amato, Vincenzo's son-in-law, decided to continue the business and enlarge it by starting a small family-run winery that, in a short time, established itself and grew, prompting the Amato family to expand the company, equipping it with barrels in wood and underground tanks. Handed down from father to son, in the early 80s the company gets a new impulse, continuing to grow and, in 2004, it equips itself with the current factory equipped with the most innovative vinification, maturation and bottling equipment. Tradition and innovation create the right balance from which the wines of Cantine Amato, that in 2011 obtained the certification of organic products, are born.
Today the tradition continues with Salvatore Amato who, supported by his wife Fiorella and his son Rosario, graduated in Viticulture and Oenology, produces and markets high quality wines appreciated both nationally and internationally. The work, the passion and the commitment of the Cantine Amato are based on solid and always current values: “We are the custodians of the extraordinary natural resources that our land offers us, we must leave them to future generations”.
