Pignolata messinese - Pasticceria Capizzi

Typical sweet from the area of Messina. Its shape is rectangular, and it is covered with icing, half lemon and half chocolate, below which you find fried dumplings with a crumbly heart.

Originally, the Pignolata was prepared and consumed only during the period of Carnival, but nowadays it is available in any moment of the year.

Ingredients: flour, eggs, alcohol, sugar, chocolate substitute, animal and vegetable fats, vanilla, natural flavourings.
