Small lakes of San Gregorio

Behind the Monte della Madonna, after passing the lighthouse, in the wide beach that stretches towards the sea, there is a small lake, right in the immediate vicinity of the coastal road that leads to the port of Capo d'Orlando Marina and the small village of San Gregorio. The pond, which perhaps owes its formation to a depression in the ground and is fed by sweet and salty underwater waters, is immersed in a very particular environment dominated on one side by the mighty bulk of the Mount and on the other side, by the splendid crowned Tyrrhenian Sea from the presence of the Aeolian Islands, Unesco Heritage
